CAMBRIDGE pulled off the great escape to retain their place in National 1 on a dramatic final day, following an impressive bonus-point victory away at Sale FC.
The visitors, who started the day in the bottom three, survived courtesy of a last-minute winner for Moseley against Caldy and their hard-fought victory in Greater Manchester.
Cambridge started as they meant to go on, opening the try-scoring after just a minute through James Ayrton following a wonderful free-flowing team move.
