Loughboro’ S…20
Rosslyn Park 46
DAN Laventure scored twice as Rosslyn Park kept up the chase at the top of the table with a resounding win at Loughborough Students.
Park, sitting fourth, are just nine points off the top and were superb in the second-half against the bottom-of-the-table side.
Laventure got the first try of the match in the 13th minute before Stewart Maguire crossed for the second midway through the half as the hosts’ defence began to crumble.
Karl Gibson added a third just before halftime, with a Charlie Reed penalty all Loughborough had to show in the opening 40.
Loughborough hoped to regroup but Rosslyn stormed out of the blocks at the beginning of the second half, scoring two more tries to put the game beyond doubt.
Gregor Gillanders and Henry Robinson both crossed before Loughborough got on the board through Tim Bitirim.
But Beji Marfo added another for Rosslyn Park before Laventure got his second – leaving Bitirim and Jack Moates only time for consolation tries at the end.
Loughborough are now two points off Esher in the table and know that they must sort out their defence if they are to retain their National League status.
