First-half blitz gets home side victory

COVENTRY backed up a controlled first-half performance with a strong final quarter to record a deserved bonus-point win over third-placed Ampthill & District.
Trailing 22-7, Ampthill came back strongly after the break to close to within three, but Coventry scored a decisive fourth try.
Coventry went in front from their first foray into the opposition 22, referee James Clarke awarding a penalty try when Ampthill collapsed a maul with Will Maisey converting.
