BARNSTAPLE marked their long-awaited return to National Two with a hard-fought victory over Old Redcliffians in a pulsating season opener yesterday afternoon.
The visitors struck first, although it was against the run of the early play, through Kacey Pike, with Ashley Groves adding the extras with a conversion.
The Chiefs responded emphatically propelled by a powerful forward display.
Barnstaple hit back with two quick tries from Brandon Moore and new signing Emosi Nadaubale, both converted by Jake Murphy.
