CAMBORNE came away victorious after their first meeting with hosts Newport (Salop) at The Old Showground.
A four-try opening-quarter blast pretty much decided the game in the Cornishmen’s favour.
The Old Showground offered a huge advantage to the team kicking downhill as the strong wind was at their backs, too.
Camborne’s ruck and maul was dominant and hooker Ben Priddy helped himself to two tries inside ten minutes, one a pickand-go and one from a rolling maul.
