Barnstaple take worst punishment in card-fest

Bournville escaped a card-fest in Devon with a crucial win at the bottom of the National Two West table after beating fellow basement dwellers Barnstaple.
In a battle for survival, second-bottom Bournville ended the day still in the relegation zone but are now just two points off Barnstaple and safety, with a game in hand.
And that desperation showed in the referee’s notebook, as Haydn Davies dished out six yellow cards and a red with Bournville ending the game defending with twelve men.
