BEN DOUGLAS’ pair of tries and Liam Checksfield’s hat-trick proved pivotal for Darlington Mowden Park to pip Macclesfield.
Macc opened the scoring with Harry Blackwell dotting down for an unconverted try, but Mowden hit back quickly with Checksfield storming over the line and Flynn Ward adding the extras.
Macclesfield pulled the lead back through a try by Manu Shute, and scored again straight from the restart. Alex Davies’ try honours were then converted by Harry Oliver.
