THIS may not have been a game of open fluent rugby, but it was still one where both sides played hard and contributed to a thrilling encounter.
Dale dominated the first half and deserved their 19-5 interval lead.
Sheffield then came out for the second half and came close to winning the fixture.
The hosts opened their account with a try from Josh Burridge after good work from backs and forwards. Tom Mann converted.
But three missed tackles allowed Sheffield to grab an unconverted try by Ianto Jones.
