SHEFFIELDTigers edged a tight affair against Preston Grasshoppers with the game played in atrocious weather conditions in the north.
A low-scoring affair ended with the Tigers winning 11-10 after both teams battled bravely against the elements.
With the wind behind them the hosts opened up an 11-point lead before a penalty kick from Preston Grasshoppers made the half-time score 11-3.
A William Wallace try within the first 15 minutes was sandwiched between two Mark Ireland penalties to build that strong Tigers start, which ebbed away.
