HULL Ionians took full advantage of Chester’s slip-up to take the sole lead at the top of the division, while Macclesfield were relegated.
Hull were extremely dominant in the first half and went into the changing rooms at the end of the half 33-7 up.
First-half tries from James Tincknell (2), Mark Wigham (2) and Steve Slingsby, meant the game was over before the second half began.
