STOURBRIDGE produced an excellent defensive display to claim victory over table-topping Hull Ionians.
Playing with a strong wind to their advantage in the first-half, Stourbridge scored the only try of the game in the tenth minute.
A scrum just five metres from the Hull line saw powerful number 8 Sam Montieri pick from the base and beat the tackle of visiting winger Toni Kuku to cross the whitewash.
Despite the tricky kicking conditions, Chris Scott slotted the conversion to put the home side 7-0 up.
