AFTER a lethargic first 40 minutes, Tynedale improved to put together some good moves to claim maximum points against relegation-threatened Scunthorpe.
The hosts started brightly enough, and took a seventh-minute lead with an Ash Smith penalty.
But they then went off the boil, a sloppy pass allowing Scunthorpe to pull off an interception which brought an unconverted try for flanker James Dyson with 25 minutes gone.
It remained a dull 5-3 to Scunthorpe at the break, and Tynedale hearts sank when replacement Ben Bell was yellow carded...
