A SPIRITED Barnes fightback was not quite enough to take the win from Combe who had been inspired by a quick-fire Sam Fombo first-half hat-trick.
Fombo had bullied his way over the line for Combe’s first score and Max Brown hit the first of his five kicks, with Fombo getting his second after a good catch and drive.
A combination of hard tackling and a dominant scrum kept the pressure on the visitors and another solid drive delivered Combe’s third try through Callum Harris.
