BARNSTAPLE ended an 18-game losing streak with a performance that demonstrated how well their young squad is coming together.
In an evenly-matched first half, Chiefs opened the scoring when Johny Carter scored his sixth try of the season by breaking a tackle close to the line to go over.
Almost immediately Barnes worked the ball back into Barnstaple’s half as Ashford Thomas went over for a try converted by Robert Kirby.
