Seven-try win thanks to first-half barrage

LEICESTER Lions showed their class in a splendid first-half performance that welcomed in the New Year.
Westcliff opened the scoring early with Greg Bannister scoring a penalty but on 11 minutes Lions' Devon Constant collected a kick through by Westcliff and followed up his own upand- under to run through and score the opener.
Forward pressure by the Lions pack allowed James Whitcombe to drive over from short range for a try.
