Leinster moved a step closer to pinning a fifth star on their jersey after dismantling Sale Sharks 43-13 at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium in the Champions Cup quarter-final tie.
Alex Sanderson’s Sharks battled hard in the first half, trailing only 7-3 at the break, but the Irish province upped the ante to run in five tries with Ireland and Lions hooker Dan Sheehan leading the charge.
Sheehan said: “It’s been a bit of a weird season with some ups and downs, but at the end of the day, we have a home semi-final we can get excited for.
