ULSTER, not making the best of a dominant first half, felt the full force of Clermont after the break and left the Auvergne with work to do if they are to secure a quarterfinal place.
Had the Irishmen secured a losing point last against Clermont you fancy 18 pool points would have been good enough for a best runners-up place, but that proved beyond them so now Ulster will need something from their final game against Bath at the Kingspan.
