THE Lions edged Lyon 42– 33 in a breathless, try-laden encounter that swung repeatedly to keep the South African side’s playoff hopes alive.
The hosts burst out of the blocks with early scores from Sibabalo Qoma and Richard Kriel before Quan Horn and Renzo du Plessis extended the advantage. Lyon, though, refused to go away and stayed in touch through tries from Charly Mignot, Alexandre Tchaptchet and Esteban Gonzalez, with Paddy Jackson’s boot keeping them within striking distance.
