Durham fought off Staffordshire’s late surge to continue their flawless start in the County Championship, as Staffordshire secured a vital bonus point.
Durham started well, but Staffs’ Alex Nesbitt hit first against the run of play. The home side quickly regrouped and hit back through Luke Armstrong’s break. Chris Atkins showed great power and determination to spear past Staffordshire’s backline and put them ahead, with Sam Heron laying off Luke Wilson to pill on the score.
