ON a warm sunny afternoon at Hooks Lane, home of Havant RFC, Hampshire hosted Kent, brimming with National 1 and 2 league players.
To Hampshire’s credit they put up a fight and did not disgrace themselves in their newly-promoted position in the top tier of the County Championship.
After a quick try by Hampshire’s Curtis Barnes, converted by Joel Knight, Kent seemed to wake up and their wingers put two tries over in quick succession, Ricky McIntosh and Craig Dowsett on the board.
