TOM Grimes was the hattrick hero for Lancashire as they started their campaign with an emphatic victory over Durham.
The visitors took the lead on three minutes when a driving maul ended with Simon Griffiths going over the line.
Tom Grimes grabbed his first of the game when the winger touched down on 12 minutes.
Durham were reduced to 14 men when Ryan Foreman was sin-binned for a deliberate knock on.
