A LAST-GASP Oscar Lennon try saw RGC battle back from behind to clinch victory at St Helen’s.
Billy McBryde kicked the Gogs into an early lead but Swansea soon hit the front when James Davies found Tom Williams who juggled the ball before backing his pace to score.
A penalty try was awarded when an unstoppable rolling maul by the North Walian pack was illegally collapsed by Owen Thomas, who also saw yellow. James Davies kicked to the corner and Matt Dodd collected the lineout before smuggling the ball to Callum Bowden, who was mauled over which McBryde converted.
Tries from Owen Thomas and Ben Cambriani saw the Whites go 24-13 up only for the visitors hit back. Danny Cross superbly took a high ball as RGC embarked on a rare second half attack. Delwyn Jones raced upfield and the pacey Tom Hughes did the rest to bring his side back into contention.
And there would be late drama. A powerful maul by the visitors’ pack was held up on the try line.
RGC opted for a fivemetre scrum and Lennon raced around the back of the scrum to score in the corner, sparking huge celebrations.
