Pooler on course for fourth successive title

PONTYPOOL took another stride towards a fourth consecutive National Championship title with a 15-12 home defeat of rivals Bedwas.
A Richard Powell penalty gave Pooler a slender 3-0 lead at the turnaround but the champions went on to secure a crucial triumph thanks to second half tries from Ieuan Jones and Amosa Nove, converted by Powell.
Jordan Rees bagged both Bedwas tries, with James Hallett converting the first one.
