Bournville beat the drop despite defeat

LICHFIELD and Syston were condemned to relegation after Bournville clinched the point they needed to avoid the drop.
Syston, who face Bournville next weekend, thought they had taken the survival battle to the final day of the season when they beat Lichfield 49-22.
It was a sorry end to Lichfield’s stay in the division as Sam Reid (2), Craig Lockington, Sam Harrison, Ian Smith and Jay Rudkin crossed with Laurie Harries scoring the rest of Syston’s points from the tee.
