Powerful Ponty prevail after Shellard stars for the hosts

PONTYPRIDD edged their way into the quarter-finals with victory over Llanelli at Sardis Road following a scoreless final half hour.
The home side took the lead in the third minute.
Ceri Sweeney placed a grubber through for Ben Jones to score in the corner, Sweeney adding the extras from the tee.
The second try came just four minutes later, Chris Dicomidis setting up Joel Raikes. Sweeney’s kick put the score onto 14-0.
Llanelli pulled a try back midway through the half, Greg George finding a gap, Ioan Hughes converting.
