Grasshoppers keep top spot after rally

PRESTON Grasshoppers still top the table but they had to come from behind, beating relegation strugglers Birkenhead Park 32-12 at Upper Park, despite being 12-10 down on the hour.
Stuart Brown and Dave Hall got the tries for Park. Sam Gale, Tyler Spence and Matt Lamprey (two each) and Matt Frings replied for the Hoppers. Lymmhang on in second spot despite going down 20-14 away to Wirral. All the visitors’ points came from Cormack Nolan through a try and three penalties.
