The Filipo Daugunu try which gave Australia two losing bonus points against Argentina in Sydney last weekend crossed a red line in terms of match officiating at international level which could be construed as either biased, or inept.

The awarding of a 79th-minute try by TMO Glenn Newman after a scoring pass by Andrew Kellaway to bench winger Daugunu, which looked at least a metre forward from most angles, was a game-killing travesty which gave the Wallabies an undeserved two-point deficit at 28-26, and a chance to steal the match off Argentina from the restart.
