Relegation has no fears for Prem

THE main reason given for Premiership clubs devaluing the European Cup by putting out half strength sides is that they are petrified of relegation.
How so? After all, relegated Premiership clubs go down with a parachute payment of about £4.5m, giving them such a massive advantage against Championship clubs, who receive only £530,000 in funding, that they bounce straight back. Look at London Irish last season, and Newcastle this.
It is called ring-fencing by funding, and it makes a nonsense of the fear factor being peddled by Premiership owners.
