There have been bigger crowds on the summit ridge of Mount Everest than we usually see at Sale, even on an important Premiership weekend when the 2006 champions are targeting a second title.
The northerners have all the necessary equipment to conquer their chosen peak, not least a healthy supply of yaks in the forward pack, but when you play your rugby so far behind football lines, business is difficult to generate.
