England, with 13 players on the pitch, survived a chaotic finale to beat Argentina 31-24 in Santiago del Estero last night.
In a dramatic finish, Justo Piccardo scored in the 80th minute to get Argentina to within one converted try of a draw and, after more than 20 phases from the restart, Bautista Delguy thought he’d scored in the corner.
The try was given on field but, after a lengthy disagreement between referee Angus Gardner and video referee Brett Cronan, it was chalked off due to the ball being grounded on the sideline.
