ICAN’T claim to have studied the bottom of the Premiership table much this season. Why would you? Nothing at stake, zero jeopardy, no relevance.
Relegation has long been deemed a naughty “hurty” word in the skewed two-tier world of English rugby and only a few diehards get excited about the so-called battle for European qualification with 80 per cent of the teams in the league guaranteed a place in next season’s competition anyway.
It’s a joke and, having “won” the battle, some of our teams then send our Second XVs for their trips to France...
