Charlie Ewels had a lightbulb moment in Toulouse in 2023 showing him Europe’s best were not invincible – and reckons Bath’s kids had the same in Bordeaux last weekend.
Ewels was part of a side who took on Antoine Dupont’s galaticos two-and-a-half years ago in France losing 31-19 in the Champions Cup pool stages.
Last Sunday, a Bath team including hooker Kepu Tuilpulotu, 20, prop Billy Sela, 21, and centre Louis Hennessey, 21, went down 38-26 in their semi-final against holders Bordeaux-Begles.
