Scunthorpe started fast with a try after three minutes from Martin Dylan, converted by Will Dark.
Mowden responded within minutes through Kieran Forbes after a powerful maul.
Harrison Mason burst through to add the next try for Mowden. Alex Fusco was next to notch a try for Mowden.
Shaun McCartney touched down next and the try fest continued with Sam Clark crashing over to make it 31-14 at the break.
