Big Bill Mata had no hesitation in reaching for a pen when Bristol Bears offered him a new contract.

The Fiji No.8, who joined the Bears last season from Edinburgh, has become a fan favourite at Ashton Gate with his charging runs and thumping tackles.
The 34-year-old has been a constant in an injury-ravaged campaign for Bristol, appearing in all bar one of their 10 Premiership matches and three of their four Champions Cup clashes.
“It was an easy decision to renew my contract,” said the 38-cap Mata. “The Bears’ game-plan suits me well and my family loves it here.
