Mike eyes Mel of a finish as Ionians show defensive steel

FOR Hull Ionians stalwart Mike Mel, the past few months have been as testing mentally as they have been physically.
The prop has spent a frustrating spell on the sidelines after tearing his calf during a scrum in the home defeat by Sheffield in October. Now, with the second half of the campaign underway and Ionians firmly in the top four, Mel is closing in on a long-awaited return.
