SALE last night suffered a record 77-7 defeat at the hands of Toulouse as the French team avoided a shock Champions Cup exit by scoring 11 tries on their way to a crushing victory. The 70-point hammering easily surpassed Sale’s previous biggest loss – a 58-8 defeat to Wasps in 2000.
