Even now, more than 50 years after turning England inside out and upside down at Twickenham, Ray ‘Chico’ Hopkins still resents the place history has chosen for him among the one-cap wonders.

His sense of grievance is fuelled by the belief that the Welsh selectors condemned him to such a place through their refusal to grant him due reward during the only 20 minutes they gave him on the Test stage, at HQ during the 1970 Five Nations, when he converted a lost Welsh cause into a winning one.
