EARLY pacesetters Ebbw Vale fired a warning to the rest in Super Rygbi Cymru by inflicting a crushing 60-20 defeat on Cardiff at Eugene Cross Park.
The Steelmen had their first bonus point in the bag by half-time, leading 31-15 with first half tries from centre Ethan Phillips, skipper Joe Franchi, full-back Morgan Richards and a penalty try. Dorian Jones added three conversions and a penalty.
Hooker Gavin Parry and wing Joe Goodchild scored for Cardiff in the first half. Lloyd Lucas kicked one conversion and one penalty.
