THE RFU’s rehabilitation of Worcester Warriors in the Championship is in trouble because of the club’s painfully slow progress in repaying its rugby creditors. This stems from the RFU’s decision to allow Worcester’s new owner, Chris Holland, a “bespoke” process as a fresh organisation in which drawn-out payments can be made, rather than applying the 28-day deadline which applies to ‘Phoenix clubs’ after they have been granted a fresh RFU licence.
