French leap to defence of game’s honour

IT SHOULD be a high old time for the union game. The pool stage of the Women’s World Cup may have been more one-sided than a Russian election, but the numbers added up in a better way when it came to business at the turnstiles and eyeballs on the telly. Meanwhile, there were some decent matches during the men’s international window and a full hand of compellingly intense ones in the first three rounds of the Rugby Championship.
