Lewis Ludlow will remain a central figure for Gloucester despite being replaced as captain after five years in charge.
The England flanker was given the armband by director of rugby George Skivington at the start of the 2020-21 campaign but Wales and Lions scrum-half Tomos Williams will lead the side this season.
