Lions would be too good for Europe

THERE was an interesting letter in this paper last week from Nigel Merrett about the potential of the Lions touring Europe before playing a three-Test series against France. While it sounds a good idea to help grow the game in countries like Spain, Portugal, Romania and Georgia this might not be the case.
The letter also mentioned Italy as a potential warm-up game, but why would Italy want to play the Lions given that they face all the teams that make up the Lions every year in the Six Nations?
As much as I think it would be good for many of those countries to have increased exposure...
