Saints open up to beat Exeter in thriller

DEFENDING champions Northampton opened their Premiership Next Gen campaign with a thrilling 64–51 win over Exeter.
Despite missing key players, the Saints exploded out of the blocks, scoring seven first-half tries – including a brace for Woody Hamilton-Hurst-to lead 45–5 at the break. Reuben Williams’ long-range effort was the pick of the bunch. Exeter responded in the second half with a flurry of late scores, but Elijah Jeyes’ double helped Saints stay ahead.
