JAC Lloyd stole the show as Newport rounded off their 150th anniversary season by hoisting the inaugural Super Rugby Cymru title after beating Ebbw Vale at Eugene Cross Park.
Lloyd, brother of Wales and Scarlets’ Cardiff-bound 10 Ioan Lloyd, broke through for a second half try which capped a man-of-thematch display.
“Wow, Jac Lloyd, I don’t think I’ll ever get the shirt back off him, he’s on fire,” said Newport fly-half Matt O’Brien.
