PRE-SEASON title favourites Leeds Tykes lived up to their billing with a comprehensive victory over Tynedale.
The Tykes, who narrowly missed out on promotion, laid down a marker ahead of the new campaign with a seven-try demolition on opening day.
The visitors opened the scoring through William Roberts, only to be kept scoreless for the remainder of the game by a stern West Yorkshire defence.
