Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall admitted his side were ‘out enthused’ by Sale.
He said: “That was a really disappointing performance. I thought we were, and this isn’t an easy thing to say, out enthused by Sale. I hoped beforehand that their want wasn’t bigger than ours but at times it looked like it was.
“All credit to Sale, one of the things we’ve been good at this year is responding to setbacks and disappointments like that in a really positive, productive way. This is the last chance we’ve got, a game in two weeks’ time and we are focused on that.”
