FYLDE put a dent in Leeds Tykes promotion charge with a win in their last home game of the season to give Titans the advantage in the title race.

Tries from Adam Lanigan and Ben Gregory gave Fylde an eight -point lead, before a heroic defensive display in the second-half saw the hosts hold out to condemn Leeds to their second defeat of the season.

Fylde made the perfect start in the tenth minute when Adam Lanigan pounced upon a loose ball to dive over from short range. Leeds responded well, scoring their own try in the 18th minute through Lucas Walsh after Greg Smith had added a penalty to Fylde's earlier score.

Fylde's top try scorer this season, Ben Gregory notched his 21st try of the season to extend the hosts lead just before the break.

After a prolonged period of pressure, Leeds finally got some reward in the second half, with a penalty kick in the 66th minute by Seremaia Turagabeci.

Fylde responded with a penalty a minute later before Leeds finally got the try they were looking for in the 74th minute through Ben Dixon. It wasn't enough for the Yorkshire side though, as Fylde held off their late charge to pick up their biggest win of the season.
