Westcombe P..27
Canterbury……. 14
WESTCOMBE Park conjured an impressive second-half comeback as they downed Canterbury.
A visiting side missing a few regulars bossed the first half to lead 14-5 at the break, but the home team finished strongly.
The first period was a bit scrappy, but Canterbury provided two flashes of brilliance.
After eight minutes, Nathan Morris scored following a series of Combe infringements in their own half. Then came a slick score after 22 minutes from Eoin O'Donoghue after a neat Canterbury move through the backs.
Former Combe man Frank Reynolds, the league's top scorer, added a couple of sweet conversions.
In reply, the home side managed a trademark catch-and-drive score from hooker Taine Wagstaff, converted by Nathan Wyman.
The second period was all Combe as they kept their visitors scoreless and bagged three tries to register a win and a bonus point.
Flanker Harry Hudson got the first at the back of a maul, prop Marc Muhlemann scored after 64 minutes and, right at the end, winger Joe Ratcliff dotted down
In between, Wyman had kicked a penalty to keep Combe in control of the scoreboard and edge them closer to safety.
