Another week and another cruel loss for Field

A DRAMATIC late turnaround saw unlucky Huddersfield thwarted for a second week in a row.

With 14 minutes remaining, an Ethan Myers try stretched Field's lead to 32-17 only to see Fylde storm back with tries from Adam Lanigan and Alex Clayton and a late Greg Smith penalty which snatched the narrow victory.

Myers got the scoreboard moving with a close-range penalty before the visitors hit back when the ball was spun out wide to wingman Ben Turner for the score.

With the hosts pressing, Fylde let their discipline slip with two yellow cards in quick succession for Lanigan and Scott Rawlings.

Field capitalised with quick tries from George Collins and Lewis Quinn to put them in control at 15-5.

Back to full strength the visitors then saw Smith find a gap to reduce the deficit to five points.

After the restart, Myers slotted a penalty before Fylde received a third yellow, Jorden Dorrington the culprit. Again the hosts took advantage Quinn crossing for a second time.

The visitors stayed in touch at 25-17 through a Sam Parker converted try. A catch and drive saw Myers claim the score to extend the lead before Fylde unleashed their fightback, Smith's penalty securing the win.
