A STOIC defensive display from Old Redcliffians helped them fend off Newport (Salop) and secure a third win in five league games.
The first half was a cagey, low-scoring affair, although Lewis Oakley opened the scoring for Old Reds in the corner after six minutes when he was picked out in a wide position.
It took half an hour for Old Reds to breach Newport’s defence again. A bit of dominance from the home side was seized upon by Kacey Pike with a try four minutes before the break.
